Yes. We install a variety of highly efficient oil-fired hot air furnaces, hot water heaters, and hot water boilers for your heating system.

Yes. We offer 24-hour emergency service to current customers.

What is your average response time in an emergency situation?

In an emergency situation, we can normally get to your home within one hour.

Do you replace oil storage tanks?

Yes. We install new oil storage tanks in many different sizes. Size selection is usually based upon the area where the tank will be installed. We can also remove in-ground residential tanks, including complete site excavation and repair.

Are your service technicians certified?

Yes. All of our technicians are NORA certified as required by The Vermont Department of Labor and Industry. The National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) maintains the standards adopted by the Vermont Fire Prevention Code and requires ongoing education to maintain certification.

When is it time to replace an old heating system?

With the effectiveness of today’s high-tech heating systems, the time is now! It is one of the smartest home improvements you can make. A typical oil-guzzling older system operates at about 60% heating efficiency. This means that 40% of your fuel dollars are literally going up in smoke! With a new boiler or furnace, you can reach an 85-95% heating efficiency. The fuel savings you’ll realize from upgrading your heating system will pay you back for the cost of installation.

What type of maintenance work should I be doing?

You should always give your heating system an annual tune-up to prevent expensive repairs and extend the life of your equipment. The Johnson Energy annual tune-up program features a 28-point "Safety and Condition Inspection," nozzle and oil filter, complete cleaning with efficiency testing, and an overall system evaluation.

Do oil tanks need to be inspected?

By Vermont law, oil tanks must be inspected by a certified tank inspector every 4 years. Failure to do so could have serious insurance consequences should a leak occur. See our Service page for more information.
